Code of ethics
The Lebanese Business Council in Kuwait follows a strict Code of Ethics that defines the standards and values members are expected to uphold in every action throughout the duration of their membership. The Code of Ethics determines both the legal and moral characteristics of the Council.
Honesty and Integrity
Members of LBCK are expected to adhere to the highest standards of honesty, credibility and integrity when disclosing information relative to their membership as well as in their dealings with other LBCK members. They are expected to show an uncompromising commitment to the strong moral and ethical principles and values set by the Code of Ethics.
Equality
Members of LBCK work together on the foundation of equality, regardless of their religion, political views or social status affiliations. LBCK is committed to diversity and equality, and therefore commits to its internal and external relationships in a nondiscriminatory, nonjudgmental and culturally tolerant belief.
Respect for Others
Members of LBCK are expected to treat each other with dignity and respect; to respect each other’s opinions, to resort to civil debate and to use respectful language when dealing with different opinions.
Respect Diversity
Members are expected to respect the beliefs (political and religious) of other members. Every decisions are made transparently without unjustified preferences and prejudices, and based on a professionally-assessed judgment.
Politics and Religion
Political and religious beliefs are personal matters and should not interfere or dictate how an LBCK member acts while attending the Council’s meetings, functions or other related activity and responsibilities.
Zero Tolerance for Corruption
LBCK does not participate nor accepts any unethical, unlawful or unfair business activities.
Respect of Kuwaiti Laws and Social Customs
LBCK’s commitment to integrity begins with complying to the laws of the country in which it operates. Members of LBCK should abide by the laws and regulations of Kuwait and respect local cultural and social customs of the country. In the case LBCK or a member is unsure of whether a contemplated action is permitted by law or policy, advice is sought after with accredited experts.
